Ambleside brings together a multi-disciplinary team of environmental experts with specialized backgrounds across a range of sectors and industries. Our team structure is designed to maximize the knowledge base brought forward to each project, thereby supporting successful outcomes to the project. Ambleside retains the services of a group of great people chosen for in-depth knowledge, innovative problem solving, an ethical approach and dedication to environmental issues. For this project, the following Team Members have helped execute the Investigation, Remediation and Reporting.
Liisa Wilkinson, P. Eng., Project Engineer, Principal Ms. Wilkinson has a broad background in Contaminated Sites projects from initial assessment to confirmation of remediation. She has been involved in Environmental Engineering sector for over 20 years, and has completed numerous projects in the residential, commercial and industrial land use sectors. Ms. Wilkinson has also designed and implemented specialized environmental remediation techniques, iinvolving on-site and off-site options throughout Sites in Ontario, Alberta and BC. She has a diverse technical background, which allows her to design and manage multidisciplinary environmental programs, including such disciplines as soil investigation, hydrology, water quality, project management , and regulatory liasion. Her background includes a civil engineering degree with a specialization in environmental engineering, giving her a valuable understanding of both the construction elements of the projects along with contaminant identification, transport and environmental effects.
Cole Bertsch, M.A., Geo. L., Hydrogeologist Mr. Bertsch is a hydrogeologist with over ten years of experience in contaminated site investigations and remediation. He has field experience in remediation technology oversight, environmental and hydrogeological drilling utilizing a variety of drilling technologies, groundwater and surface water monitoring, well response slug tests and pump tests and site surveying. He is also a leading expert in soil vapour assessment, installation of vapour wells and assessment of results. He also completes the interpretation and mapping of geologic strata, hydrogeologic conceptual site model development, the design and analysis of slug test and pump test data using AQTESOLV and AquiferTest, develops environmental database management systems, geospatial groundwater contouring of dissolved contaminant plumes using ViewLog, Surfer and AutoCAD, numerical groundwater modeling using Visual MODFLOW, and analytical groundwater modeling using BIOSCREEN and BIOCHLOR. Cole uses his expertise in subsurface contaminant flow to provide a detailed overview of how contaminants are transported at Sites.
Mike Guther, P. Eng., CSAP Roster Professional Mr. Guther is an Environmental Engineer with over 15 years of environmental experience in British Columbia. As a consultant and a regulator, Mr. Guther has been involved in all aspects of contaminated site investigation and remediation. He has managed and performed numerous environmental site and hydrogeological assessment projects for various clients throughout British Columbia. In particular, he has successfully managed numerous large and/or remote site investigation/remediation projects, many involving petroleum hydrocarbons and/or metals in soil and groundwater; other projects involved assessment of chlorinated organics, nitrates, asbestos and various substances associated with coal tar (refer to the listing below). Mr. Guther has worked as a provincial regulator for 8 years with the BC Ministry of Environment as a Contaminated Sites / Pollution Prevention Officer, and as a result he has in-depth knowledge of the relevant provincial legislation, policy and guidelines regarding contaminated sites management. Mike is well versed in Ministry of Environment guidelines, standards and regulations and provides an invaluable assessment of the application of the regulations to project sites. He has a sound understanding of contaminant hydrogeology principles, as well as knowledge of: human health risk assessment procedures; factors affecting the potential for human/ecological health risks from contaminated sites; relevant waste/effluent/air emission treatment systems; impact potential from discharges of refuse/effluent/air emissions to the environment; brownfield management; and pollution prevention strategies related to contaminated sites. In addition, he has considerable experience in investigative/remedial design and planning, field sampling, data interpretation, site characterization, report writing, senior peer review and schedule/budget control.
Sushil Dogra, B. Tech Environmentl, Eng. Tech. Mr. Dugra is an Environmental Scientist and has over 10 years work experience in the BC environmental consulting industry. Previously, he worked as a Junior Engineer in the fields of Civil Construction Projects, Geotechnical Investigations and Public Health works for 16 years. His environmental experience inlcudes contaminated soil, groundwater and vapour investigations (Stage 1, 2 PSIs and DSIs), hydrogeological studies involving geological mapping, groundwater flow analysis and interpretation. He has provided Engineering Management for numerous soil and groundwater remediation, contaminated soil management and decommissioning of facilities. Remedial options employed have included pump and treat, GAC filtration, in-situ bioremediation, air sparging, on-site treatment of soils, excavation, removal and characterization of soils for offsite treatment. He has completed several grid closure sampling projects for the preparation of confirmation of remediation reports.
Sara Bathgate Ms. Bathgate is an Environmental Technician with experience in environmental consulting, investigation and remediation projects. Sara has field and reporting experience in identifying and delineating impacted soils and groundwater, along with experience in soil and groundwater remediation and groundwater monitoring. She has managed projects involving the investigation, removal and disposal, and monitoring of fuel storage tanks and the remediation of impacted soils and groundwater. Sara has drilled and installed boreholes and monitoring wells, and completed various soil, groundwater and air sampling activities. Sara has project management experience including coordinating staff and contractor schedules, liasing with clients and tracking and maintaining budgets.
PROJECT TEAM ACCREDITATIONS: · Member of BCMOE Roster of Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals · Professional Engineer, Association of Professional Engineers & Geologists of Alberta · Professional Engineer, Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of BC · Limited Licence Geoscience Professional (Geo.L.) · Member of the Applied Science Technicians and Technologists of British Columbia (ASTT)
